Ask when the food is still warm

Restaurant reviews die in the parking lot. A card on the table or with the bill catches people before they leave — NFC tap or QR scan, no searching your listing on a full stomach.

Staff do not need a speech. A short printed line next to the bill is enough. For kitchens with separate dessert or drinks counters, category QR codes can open that part of the visit first.

Where it earns its keep

On the table

After a good meal people are still seated. A tent or flat card next to water glasses is easy to notice without interrupting service.

With the bill

Slip a card into the bill folder or keep one on the tray. The ask lands when they are already holding their phone to pay.

At takeaway / parcel

Parcel counters move fast. A fixed NFC spot on the counter still catches people who never sat down.

A note on staff scripts

Long speeches slow the table. One line works better: “If you enjoyed dinner, this card opens our Google review — takes a few seconds.” Then leave it. Pressure kills reviews faster than silence.

Restaurant FAQ

Where should a restaurant put the card?+

Tables work when guests linger after food. Billing counters catch takeaway and people who skip the table tent. Many kitchens use both.

Will guests find it awkward?+

Less awkward than a verbal pitch at the door. A small printed ask next to the bill feels normal; staff can point once without a speech.

Can dessert and drinks have different QR codes?+

Yes, if you use the category review flow. Print a QR for each section so the dessert counter opens desserts, then the guest reviews that part of the visit.

What if someone had a bad experience?+

The Stars flow can send lower ratings into private feedback instead of straight to Google, so you hear about cold food before the whole neighbourhood does.

Do we need a tall stand as well?+

Helpful at a busy cash counter. Table cards cover dine-in; a Google review stand covers the queue at billing. See the stand page if that is your bottleneck.
